Us vs Them: It’s Bigger Than Ferguson
When it comes to the true nature of “Us” vs “Them”,
I beg you to consider the box they’ve put you in.
What labels have they attached to divide us all?
What fables have we latched onto, that will lead to our fall?
For it is not a matter of black vs white,
Or even an issue of who’s wrong and who’s right.
This is a battle for humanity, a concept too often ignored.
Set aside your pride and vanity, I sincerely implore.
There’s a hidden agenda going on behind the scenes,
A silent assassination of our global hopes and dreams.
While we lay blinded by distraction, they plot their next move.
As our unity continues to fraction, they’re superior is all that we prove.
You may ask, who is this “they” in which you speak?
Why it is none other than the societal elite.
The ones that don’t get their hands dirty, while we murder and pillage.
The ones that laugh as we destroy each other’s villages.
See, while we fall victim to anger and rage,
They smirk at their little guinea pigs playing violently in their cage.
It’s bigger than me, and it’s bigger than you.
It’s bigger than race, it’s bigger than war too.
They’ve claimed a monopoly on each and every one of of our souls,
And as we attack each other, we are helping to achieve their goals.
It is only the surface of this issue that lies in race and power,
And as we fall victim to negativity, our anguish they devour.
Not all black people are thugs, and not all white people are evil.
But we are all humans, stemming from blood so wise and regal.
Our precious blood, that is slain on all sides.
Death knows no boundaries, it respects no divide.
We are all mental captives in this asylum they’ve created.
Our true purpose and destiny is something they’ve negated.
What if no one told you you were black, or that you were white.
Would we all still struggle in this endless fight?
Don’t believe their lies, please turn off your tv.
Look into my eyes, and tell me you don’t SEE me.
Tell me that you can’t see this divine spark of creation.
Tell me this burning flame isn’t greater than this sham of a nation.
That eternal elixir is the antidote to their poisonous lies.
It’s the only way to remember, to see with our ancient eyes.
Only then will you recall the gods that we all were born to be.
Only then will we drop our weapons, only then can we ever truly be free.
